Glimpses of Geoffrey Hodson's life and work
Geoffrey Hodson was born and educated in England.
Born 12th March 1886, he passed away at the age of 96 on the 23rd January 1983, at his home in Auckland, New Zealand.
During the first world war he served with distinction in the British Army and afterwards became actively interested in Theosophical studies. He carried out occult research in collaboration with medical men and women, physicists, anthropologists archaeologists and musicians. "Occult", here, means simply that which is hidden to ordinary perception - its original meaning. This work was inspired by a desire to demonstrate the potential of extended modes of consciousness in different fields.
For some 50 years Geoffrey Hodson has lectured for the Theosophical Society, in places
including America, England, Europe, South Africa, India, New Zealand, Australia and
the Far East. He is the author of about 60 books, dealing with such topics as meditation,
the spiritual life, healing, health and disease, and the life and powers of
the occultist. He devoted a special effort to exploring the vast and wonderful world of Nature's
spiritual intelligences - the beings called by so many names, such as fairies, angels and the "little people" of
all cultures.
Geoffrey Hodson's books are available from the Theosophical Society Headquarters in New Zealand.
